Swim Meet Set-up

  • Team coordinators should connect before the meet to go over the number of swimmers and other details, like concessions, special needs swimmers, camping spots, and more.
  • The home team is in charge of the pool facilities and guest safety, so they have the final say on canceling a meet due to bad weather. The hosting pool’s rules will take precedence for weather-related safety concerns, such as keeping swimmers out of the water for an hour after lightning is spotted.
  • If for any reason a team wants to end the meet prior to the end, that team must take a forfeit.
  • All issues or complaints between teams should go directly and exclusively through the team coordinators. At the start of the season, all teams must share or remind everyone of this rule to ensure all parents are aware.
  • Only team coordinators are privy to the score, DQ information, etc. The score is never to be announced or made public.

Line Ups

  • The number of heats for all individual events is limited to 5 heats. 6U swimmers will have unlimited heats when competing at home meets.
  • IM will be limited to 3 heats.
  • Relays are limited to 3 heats.
    • In addition to the heat limits above, the following swimmer limits have been adopted (excluding 6&U):

      • Individual medley: Each team is limited to 6 swimmers per event
      • Relays: Each team is limited to 6 teams per relay event

  • The home team supplies all of the ribbons for a meet. A DQ gets a 4th place ribbon.

    • Away Team:  Lanes 2 & 4 - Stroke judge lanes 1 & 2
  • The meet will start at 5:00 PM. The home team will warm up from 4:00 to 4:25 PM, and the away team will warm up from 4:30 to 4:55 PM.
  • Make-up Meets - If a team is unable to secure enough swimmers or volunteers to constitute a meet, that team must forfeit.
